COVID-19 Announcement--Updated March 30, 2020
The Board staff will continue to work remotely through April 3, 2020. Staff have ability to telework, but do not have the same access and ability to conduct all processes.
Release of the results of the February 2020 exam remains on schedule. We will provide an update on the precise date for that release.
Registration for the July exam is open, and we intend to adhere to our registration schedule. Applicants are reminded that character and fitness documentation, including fingerprinting for the purpose of our office getting criminal history records, is not due before the bar exam. However, it is important that applicants seeking accommodations for the exam submit their request forms and documentation in a timely fashion so that adequate plans may be made for any approved accommodations. These applicants should make every effort to obtain all necessary accompanying documentation. In the event they are unable to submit it with their request forms, they must submit a signed document detailing why the documentation is not available, and when it can be expected.
It is not yet possible for the Board to determine if the July exam will be able to go forward as scheduled. Nonetheless, the Board is conferring with the National Conference of Bar Examiners and other jurisdictions and otherwise gathering information so that, if a July exam is not possible, the Board will be able to be prepared with an alternative plan.
We know that the uncertainty about the July 2020 bar exam only adds stress for applicants who are dealing with health concerns and significant life disruptions. Please know that we understand and sympathize and that we will do all we can to reach and announce decisions as soon as we have sufficient information to do so.
We continue to wish you good health.
